The Waterlily That Closes at Night
Kelgai Ann has a habit that always surprises people the first time they notice it: the blooms close up in the evening and reopen slowly the next day, a bit like a peony.
The flower itself is a soft blush pink with darker pink streaks running through it — streaks that get more pronounced as the weather cools later in the season. It’s an upward-facing, saucer-shaped waterlily bloom, delicate rather than showy.
It’s been called a bit of a unicorn variety by growers who’ve chased it for years — delicate, romantic, and not one you’ll find everywhere.
A quietly special variety for anyone who likes their garden to have a little bit of magic in it.
