A Hand-Painted Wine and Rust
If AB Brasla is quiet, Bloomquist York is the opposite — it wants to be noticed, and it earns that.
The colour is a rich rusty red to burgundy wine, deepening toward a near-chocolate centre and softening at the petal tips like it’s been hand-painted. No two photos of it look quite the same depending on the light.
It’s also one of the tallest varieties we grow, so expect it to hold court toward the back of a border or the middle of a bouquet. The stems are straight and strong enough to carry that height without flopping, which makes it a satisfying one to cut.
A moody, dramatic colour for anyone who wants their arrangements to have a little weight to them.
A few growing notes:
- Height: can reach 150–200+ cm — one of our taller varieties
- Bloom size: around 13–15 cm
- Full sun, sheltered from strong wind given its height
